Returning the received item
You have the right to return the item to Thrift Town and get a refund, if the item received significantly differs from the photo or the item description.

Preconditions for returning an item:

-
Within 48 hours after receiving the item, you have informed Thrift Town via Yaga messages about the wish to return the item.
-
You have not clicked on the "Item received“ button (hasn’t completed the order).
How returning process works:

-
You inform Thrift Town about the wish to return the item and the reason(s) for it.
-
We share our return details with you. Unless an alternative agreement is made, the item should be returned via the same delivery method which was used to ship the item in the first place. We will share the same set of details for the return that were provided by us for delivery.
-
After Thrift Town have agreed with you upon returning the item and we have shared all the necessary details, you must ship the item within 72h, unless agreed upon otherwise, and pay for the return postage.
-
Thrift Town receives the item and cancels the order.
-
Money initially deposited by you (item's price, initial delivery fee, Buyer Protection Fee) is automatically refunded to your Yaga wallet by Yaga (from where you can instantly transfer it to your bank account).
Important:

-
When it comes to sizing, we can only take into account whether the size advertised matches the size written on the label (= factory size). If the size matches, then Thrift Town is not obligated to accept the return, however, if the advertised size is different from what's written on the actual label, then you have the right to return the item.
-
Some of our best pieces, especially vintage clothing, often don't have brand or size lables on. We just want you to be happy with your purchase, so are always willing to refund such an item that doesn't fit.
-
But if the item doesn’t fit or you just don’t like it, then you can only return the item if Thrift Town agrees to a refund, or alternatively a mutual agreement (such as a swop) could also be made.
-
You must return the item in the same condition in which it was received (i.e. item should not be washed nor used).
-
When the order collection is made, you must inspect the item on the spot. Any issues with the item must be noted and confirmed at that time. Once the item has been accepted, later complaints or return requests may not be considered\

Thrift Town may also agree with you on an alternative solution for returning the item or solving the matter, e.g. swopping for another product of the same value.

If you or us fail to agree or are unable to get in contact with each other, then both sides may contact Yaga for assistance by submitting a request to them. If necessary, Yaga will make additional inquiries to you and us to resolve the situation. If one of the parties does not respond to the inquiry within 48h, Yaga may make a decision in the favour of the other party.

My item was damaged/lost in transit

How safely the item is packaged and how it arrives falls under Thrift Town’s responsibility. Depending on what happened to the parcel, the solutions are the following:

1. Item got damaged in transit
Technically, these sorts of instances fall under the return policy which states that you may return the item to Thrift Town if it significantly differs from the photo or the description or has hidden flaws. If the item is broken beyond repairs and Thrift town doesn't want it back, then we will cancel the order from our side and the item can be discarded.

2. Item got lost in transit
If the parcel gets lost by the courier company in transit, then the order will be cancelled by Thrift Town in Yaga, so you can receive a refund. After that the matter will be taken up by Thrift Town directly with the courier company to file a claim to them regarding the lost items.

Safety is Yaga's top priority, therefore they aim to ensure that you as a Buyer are always protected. That is why a Buyer Protection fee of 6.5% + R19.90 is applied to the total cost of your order automatically at checkout. Yaga's Buyer Protection covers all payments made through Yaga.
If you didn't collect the parcel

The Courier Guy (former PUDO)

When the collection period expires with Curier Guy (Pudo), they require another booking for the parcel to be returned to Thrift Town.
If you do not collect the parcel, or havn't made any collection agreements with them, it will either be automatically sent back to Thrift Town or returned once Thrift Town has booked a return with the courier.
Once Thrift Town has received your parcel back, Yaga will cancel the order and reimburse Thrift Town for the return cost (up to the amount which was paid by you for the initial delivery). The rest of the money will be refunded to you.

Paxi

When a Paxi parcel gets returned after the collection period is over Thrift Town will let Yaga know once we've received the parcel back and Yaga will cancel the transaction.
